Himachal Pradesh : Chief Minister gave assurance: Government will give directions to the Deputy Commissioners to allow blood donation camp
Chief Minister Jairam Thakur has said that guidelines will be issued to all the Deputy Commissioners to allow setting up of blood donation camps as per the Corona Protocol. Chief Minister Prof. Umang Foundation President Prof. Ajay Srivastava said that voluntary organizations will be encouraged to set up blood donation camps in the state so that there is no shortage of blood. Nowadays there is a huge blood deficiency in all the blood banks of the state including IGMC Shimla.
The Umang Foundation is setting up a blood donation camp on May 15 at Sairi Panchayat near Jubbarahatti Airport on the appeal of IGMC Blood Bank. Foundation President Prof Srivastava told the Chief Minister that due to corona curfew, it was difficult to organize blood donation camp across the state. . This has led to severe blood loss in the blood banks. Blood in the blood banks of Shimla is almost exhausted.
He told the Chief Minister that the SDM of Kandaghat, adopting a stubborn attitude, refused to allow the Umang Foundation to set up a blood donation camp in the Saiyari Panchayat. The SDM’s absurd argument was that only marriage can be allowed, not a blood donation camp. He did not mind despite the guidelines issued by the state government last year.
On this, the Chief Minister assured that with the permission to set up a blood donation camp in Saree, they will issue instructions to all the Deputy Commissioners so that no voluntary organization will face any problem in setting up a blood donation camp. Subsequently, the SDM of Kandaghat sent written permission of the blood donation camp.
Prof. Ajay Srivastava has appealed to all the voluntary organizations of the state to follow the Corona Protocol and immediately contribute in saving the lives of the people by setting up blood donation camps in their respective areas.
