Rs. 2400 bag of DAP fertilizer will be available to the farmer for Rs. 1200

Virendra Kanwar, Minister of Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Husbandry, has declared the Central Government’s decision to increase the subsidy on DAP fertilizer by 140 percent. In a press release issued today, Agriculture Minister Virendra Kanwar said that the central and state governments are giving top priority to the welfare of farmers.

Kanwar said that subsidy on DAP manure sack has been increased from Rs 500 to Rs 1200. With this, the farmer will get a bag of fertilizer worth Rs. 2400 for Rs. 1200. He said that the central government will bear additional expenditure of Rs 14,775 crore for this subsidy, so that farmers do not have to pay more for fertilizer. He said that the Modi government is constantly striving for the empowerment of farmers. The central government has set a target of doubling the income of farmers by the year 2022 and many steps have been taken in this direction.

Agriculture Minister Virendra Kanwar said that the state government has brought more than one lakh farmers under the scheme to promote natural farming and reduce the cost of farming. On which more than 31 crore rupees have been spent. An area of 5095 hectares is covered under natural farming. In addition, under the Agricultural Mechanization Program, farmers are provided 50 percent subsidy on purchase of tractors, power tillers and weeders. Under this scheme, 1.27 lakh farmers have been benefited, on which Rs 60 crore subsidy has been given by the State Government.
