Pauri Senior Congress leader and former minister Narendra Singh Bhandari died of a heart attack last night. The news of the death of Narendra Singh Bhandari, who was the Education Minister in the ND Government, triggered a wave of mourning in the Congress. Former Chief Minister and National General Secretary of Congress Harish Rawat, Congress state president Pritam Singh, former minister Surendra Singh Negi, state vice president Jot Singh Bisht, party spokesperson Garima Mehra Dasoni, media adviser to former chief minister Harish Rawat Surendra Kumar, former president of Garhwal Mahila Congress District Congress president Madhavi Rawat, former president of Pauri Municipality Kunj Bihari Negi, former MLA and state president of Mahila Congress Sarita Arya, while condoling Bhandari’s death, termed her death as an irreparable loss to the Congress party. Narendra Singh Bhandari served in the Narayan Dutt Tiwari government from 2002 to 2007 as Education Minister. He was also an MLA from Pauri. Narendra Singh Bhandari also served as the chairman of the Congress Discipline Committee. Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat has prayed to God to provide peace to the departed soul and peace to the bereaved at the death of former state education minister Narendra Singh Bhandari.
Dehradun : State’s Tourism, Irrigation, Religion and Culture Minister Satpal Maharaj has expressed deep condolences on the death of former Education Minister Narendra Singh Bhandari and described it as an irreparable loss to the state.
Expressing his deepest condolences over the death of former Uttarakhand Education Minister Narendra Singh Bhandari, Tourism, Irrigation, Religion and Culture Minister Satpal Maharaj termed it as an incomparable loss, saying that Narendra Singh Bhandari was the Education Minister during whose tenure teachers had never seen him. No front was opened against him. Maharaj said that former Education Minister Late Bhandari ji was able to make quick decisions as well as solve problems on time.
Cabinet Minister Satpal Maharaj said that Bhandari, in his tenure, paved the way for the appointment of thousands of primary, secondary, LT and spokes teachers, along with many schools. He started the CBSC course in the state. So there is no doubt that he did better work as Education Minister. Certainly due to the departure of an experienced politician, the state is experiencing political vacancy.
