Bihar : Lalu Prasad Yadav gets relief, CBI gives clean chit in DLF bribery case

Former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav has received CBI relief. The Central Bureau of Investigation has given a clean chit to the former railway minister in the DLF bribery case. Lalu was recently granted bail in the fodder scam case. Lalu had been in jail for three years in the fodder scam case. In January 2018, the Economic Offenses Wing of the CBI started an investigation against Lalu Yadav and DLF Group in this case.

The allegation in this case was that the DLF Group had a view on a railway project in Bandra, Mumbai and on the project of renovation of the New Delhi Railway Station. The DLF group had bribed former railway minister Lalu to get these projects. Along with this, the group had also given a property in South Delhi to RJD chief Lalu.

Tejashwi Yadav has been handling the reins of the RJD since Lalu Yadav was sentenced to jail. RJD emerged as the single largest party in Bihar assembly elections. However, RJD could not form the government due to the majority of BJP and JDU alliance. Tejashwi Yadav is the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Assembly.
