Petrol in Mumbai crosses Rs 100
Petrol and diesel prices were increased again, due to which the price of petrol in the country’s commercial capital Mumbai crossed Rs 100 per liter for the first time. Petrol has now reached close to Rs 94 per liter in Delhi and Kolkata, while diesel has become costlier by Rs 92 per liter in Mumbai.
According to the website of leading oil marketing company Indian Oil Corporation, the price of petrol in Mumbai today increased by 25 paise to Rs 100.19 per liter. This is the first time it has crossed 100 rupees in a major metropolis. The price of diesel also rose by 30 paise to a historic high of Rs 92.17 per liter.
Petrol became costlier by 26 paise and diesel by 27 paise in the national capital. Today, the price of a liter of petrol was Rs 93.94 and the price of diesel was Rs 84.89 per liter. Since May 04 till date, the prices of both fossil fuels have been increased for 15 days, while their prices have not been changed for 11 days. During this time, petrol in Delhi has become expensive by Rs 3.54 and diesel by Rs 4.15.
