60th National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championship in Patiala
The Athletics Federation of India will organize the 60th National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championships in Patiala from June 25 to 29. The event will be the last qualification opportunity for athletes for the Tokyo Olympics. In view of Corona, it has been decided to hold the competition at two places. Athletics Federation President Adil J Sumariwala said, “To avoid overcrowding at one venue, we have decided to hold the competition at two venues. Netaji Subhash National Institute of Sports will have 24 matches while 19 matches will be played at Punjab University Grounds.
The Athletics Federation is also inviting athletes from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Chinese Taipei, Malaysia and Kazakhstan for the competition. Only athletes who meet the AFI qualification criteria for the competition will be allowed to participate. Entries can be submitted online on the website of AFI in the respective states and union territories from June 10 to 18.
