Narayan Chauhan Champion in UP Under 18 Chess Open

Narayan Chauhan of Mainpuri became the champion with 4.5 points in the under-18 age open category of chess selection competitions being played online in various age categories organized by the Uttar Pradesh Chess Sports Association. Rishi Singh of Varanasi and Manikya Negi of Ghaziabad scored 4-4 points each though they got second and third positions respectively in the tie breaker. On the other hand, Riya Mishra of Ballia won the title with all possible 5 points in the women’s Under 18 category. Shubhi Gupta of Ghaziabad got 2nd position with 4 marks and Ananya Jain of Ghaziabad got 3rd position with 3 marks.
The first and second place players from both the age groups will represent Uttar Pradesh in the national competitions of under-18 open age group and girls’ category to be held from June 9 to 11.
