Kohli doesn’t get upset, he sticks to his shots: Rashid
Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan has said that Indian captain Virat Kohli is special because he plays his natural shot even under pressure. He also said that Kohli never plays shots which are not his strength. Rashid, who played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL, said that Rohit Sharma is naturally the best batsman and he has a variety of shots.
Rashid said, “If there is another batsman and if you bowl well to him, he will come under pressure. He will play shots that are not his strength such as sweeps, slog sweeps or any other isolated stroke. (But) Virat will follow his own procedure. He plays with his mind.
He said, “He has a different style of playing with the bat. He doesn’t do anything different. I think that’s why he is so successful. He will give respect to the good balls. But at the same time he will also teach bad balls advice. There is tremendous confidence in him. Some batsmen lack confidence, so they struggle. But Kohli is aware of his strength.
The 22-year-old Afghan leg-spinner said that Rohit is the best when it comes to pull shots.
He said, ‘I agree that he has a lot of time. I have seen very few players who have enough time. It is natural for some players to have more time. The way he pulls even at 145 or 150 kmph, the way he hits it looks like the ball is at 125 or 130 kmph. He doesn’t shoot very powerful shots. They believe in their timing.
Rashid also said that bowling to West Indies batsmen is very challenging. He also described Hardik Pandya of India as the most hit all-rounder.
