I gave my best, so didn’t get emotional: Tsitsipas

Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas said he gave his best in the match so he didn’t get emotional after the loss, after his defeat at the hands of world number one Novak Djokovic of Sabaya in the final of the French Open.

Tsitsipas overtook Djokovic in the first two sets but the Serbian made a comeback to win the next three sets to win his 19th career Grand Slam title.
Tsitsipas said, “I don’t think I should regret that.” I could be emotional but I couldn’t find a reason because I tried my best.

He said, I am sure that if I keep playing like this, then one day I will win the Grand Slam title. I hope it will happen soon. I don’t see any reason why I can’t get the trophy.

Tsitsipas said, “I learned from this match that you have to win three sets, not two, to finish the match. Winning two sets doesn’t matter because you need to win one more set to win the match.

“I don’t think I need to rest or change myself. I want to be the way that works for me. Djokovic played a great game. He didn’t give me a chance and thought he had read my game.
