CM Tirath meets Union Minister of State for Tourism and Culture, Shri Prahlad Singh Patel
Approval of plan to develop IDPL, Rishikesh as Special Tourism Zone
New Delhi/Dehradun. The Chief Minister, Shri Tirath Singh Rawat called on the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Tourism and Culture, Shri Prahlad Singh Patel, in New Delhi. On the request of the Chief Minister, the Union Tourism Minister approved the plan to develop IDPL, Rishikesh as a Special Tourism Zone. For this, Biodiversity Park, International Convention Center, Resort, Hotel, Wellness Center are proposed to be built on 600 acres in IDPL Rishikesh. The Union Tourism Minister Shri Prahlad Patel while appreciating this project of the State Government described it as exemplary for other states also. He said that going forward it will be funded by the Government of India. The Chief Minister said that DPRs have also been sent to the Government of India to enhance the facilities of pilgrims at Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham under the Prasad scheme. The Chief Minister requested the Union Minister to approve the above proposals at the earliest. On this, the Union Minister said that by next week, 50 crore will be approved in the Prasad scheme. The work of Food Craft Institute Almora will be completed by December. The Union Minister said that the necessary budget for this would be approved immediately. It was recommended to include Rishikesh in the meaning of Namami Gange. Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Tourism and Culture, Shri Prahlad Singh Patel told the Chief Minister that all possible cooperation would be provided by the Ministry of Tourism for the development of tourism in Uttarakhand. Chief Secretary Shri Omprakash, Secretary Smt. Radhika Jha, Shri Dilip Jawalkar, Shri Shailesh Bagoli and other officers were present on this occasion.
