Exercise intensified for the construction of the first NCC academy in Himachal

43.5 bighas of land has been selected in Rajgarh-Khiyuri of Balh area of Mandi, officials inspected

The exercise for the construction of the first NCC (National Cadet Corps) academy in Himachal Pradesh has intensified. Regarding this, the team of officers inspected the selected land for setting up the academy in Rajgarh-Khiyuri village of Balh area of Mandi district. Let us tell you, the Himachal government has identified about 43.5 bighas of land at Rajgarh-Khiyuri in Balh for the construction of NCC Academy.

Additional Director General, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh Directorate General Major General Jasveer Singh Sandhu (AVSM) along with officers inspected the land on Thursday evening.
Group Commander, Group Headquarters Shimla, Brigadier Rajiv Thakur (SM, VSM) and Commander II Corps NCC Mandi, Col Anuj Singh Luthra (SM) and his team members were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Major General Jasvir Singh Sandhu said that the main objective of his visit was to see the land given by the Himachal Government for opening the NCC Academy to know what needs to be done for land development here.
He said that many states have academies or schools for NCC training. With the formation of NCC Academy in Himachal also, the cadets will get great facility of training and camp. Especially it will be convenient to set up outdoor training and camp.
At the same time, Deputy Commissioner Mandi Rigved Thakur said that according to the instructions of the state government, the administration has identified about 43.5 bighas of land in Khiyuri for setting up NCC Academy. Out of this, 18 bighas of land has been transferred in the name of Higher Education Department, the matter has been sent regarding forest clearance of the remaining land. As soon as it is completed, the next process will be implemented soon.
