Milkha Singh raised the standard of athletics in India : Sumariwala
Athletics Federation of India (AFI) President Adil J Sumariwala has condoled the death of legendary Indian sprinter Milkha Singh.
In a condolence message here, Sumariwala said, “He was a personality who raised the level of athletics in India. His candid observations on the Indian game will always be remembered. His vast legacy will continue to inspire generations of young Indians.
He said, “It is difficult to reconcile the news that Milkha Singh is no more. We have always believed that he will return from the hospital and make our athletes happy as they prepare for the Olympic Games in Tokyo next month.
