Uttarakhand : CM reviews work progress of Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail line project
Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat took information about the progress of work of Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail line project from the officials of Rail Vikas Nigam at the Secretariat on Tuesday. The Chief Minister said that the works on the railway line should be expedited. It should be completed within the stipulated time period. A target has been set to complete the construction of this railway line by 2024. The Chief Minister said that whatever help is needed from the State Government to expedite the works, it would be given. Chief Project Manager of Rail Vikas Nigam Himmashu Badoni informed that 12 stations and 17 tunnels are being built on 125 km Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail line. To expedite the works on the main tunnels, the construction of 12 km approach road for 10 work sites has been completed. While the work of 06 edit tunnels out of 07 has been completed. 18 major and 36 minor bridges are being constructed in this railway line. The construction of Chandrabhaga Bridge has been completed. Work is going on on all the rest. The target has been set to complete their construction by March 2024. Apart from this, hospital building in Srinagar, toilet block at Haridwar railway station, road bridge at Gauchar and Kaleshwar, stadium in Srikot (Srinagar) is being constructed by Rail Vikas Nigam for the welfare of the state. On this occasion Chief Adviser to Chief Minister Shatrughan Singh, Officer on Special Duty J. Sundriyal, Secretary R. Meenakshi Sundaram, SN Pandey, Geologist Rail Vikas Nigam Vijay Dangwal etc. were present.
