Uttarakhand : Last farewell to martyr Mandeep, who was martyred in Jammu and Kashmir

Pauri : Lal Mandeep Singh Negi of Pauri, who was martyred in Jammu and Kashmir, was given a last farewell on Sunday. On this occasion a large number of special and common people came to bid their last farewell to their braveheart. 23-year-old Rifleman Mandeep Singh Negi of the 11th Garhwal Rifle was martyred while performing his duty at the border in Gulmarg, Jammu and Kashmir. On Sunday, his body reached village Saknoli of his village Pokhara block. Everyone’s eyes became moist when the body of martyr Rifleman Mandeep Singh Negi reached the village. Mandeep’s mother Hemanti Devi fell unconscious after seeing her son wrapped in the tricolor, villagers and SSP Pauri P Renuka Devi took care of them. While Mandeep’s father Satyapal Singh is proud of his son’s martyrdom in paying off the debt of his motherland, the tears in his eyes were telling the sorrow of his son’s passing. Mandeep’s mother Hemanti Devi, seeing the body of her only support, was unable to contain herself and wept and hugged Mandeep. Remembering Mandeep again and again, she was waiting for him to talk.

CM Tirath Singh Rawat, who arrived to pay homage to martyr Rifleman Mandeep Singh Negi, consoled Mandeep’s parents and called Mandeep’s martyrdom the pride of the country and the state. Government Spokesperson Subodh Uniyal, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi along with CM paid floral tributes to the dead body of martyr Rifleman Mandeep and saluted the martyr on the martyrdom of Martyr Mandeep. Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat’s eyes were moist while paying tribute. In the martyr’s village Saknoli, the regional villagers, public representatives arrived to pay homage to the martyr and gave a final farewell to the martyr at the martyr’s ancestral ghat.
