Zydus Cadila Vaccine Trial Almost Completed
Children of 0- 12-18 years will be vaccinated in the next one month
India is soon going to get another weapon for the fight against the corona virus. Dr NK Arora, President of the COVID Working Group has said that the trial of Zydus Cadila Vaccine is almost complete. By the end of July or in August, we can start giving this vaccine to children aged 12-18.
NK Singh said that ICMR has come out with a study which states that the third wave is likely to be late. We have a window period of 6-8 months to vaccinate everyone in the country. He said that in the coming days, our target is to give 1 crore doses every day. NK Aroda said that it is important that people actively come forward and take vaccines, it is absolutely necessary. There are many rumours, misinformation which is spreading in the country. Similarly, there is some vague fear in the minds of people. They think there may be some side effects or that the vaccine may be unsafe. Arora said that the delta plus form has been found to be more associated with lung tissue than other forms of corona virus, but it does not mean that it will cause serious disease or it is more contagious. Delta Plus, a new form of corona virus, was identified on 11 June. Recently it has been classified as having concern. So far 51 cases of Delta Plus have been reported in 12 states of the country. The maximum number of cases of infection from this form have come from Maharashtra.
