Himachal Pradesh : CM expresses gratitude to Rajnath Singh for dedicating three bridges for the state
Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh today inaugurated 63 bridges built by Border Roads Organization in eight states of the country from Kungyam in Eastern Ladakh, out of which three bridges are located in Himachal Pradesh.
Addressing the people on the occasion, Rajnath Singh appreciated the role of Border Roads Organization in connecting the border areas of the country with road facilities. He said that better road connectivity is important for the security of the country.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while thanking the Union Defense Minister for dedicating the bridges in the bordering states said that the three dedicated bridges are important for Himachal Pradesh as they provide connectivity to the inaccessible areas of the state, where the army and paramilitary forces are located. forces are deployed. He said that the 40 meter long Pangi bridge constructed at a cost of Rs 4.27 crore on Pawari-Pooh road would provide connectivity throughout the year and would help in boosting the morale of the soldiers.
Jai Ram Thakur said that a bridge has been constructed over Kiran Khad at a cost of Rs.5.55 crore. This bridge will play an important role in ensuring connectivity as well as in providing uninterrupted supply of various material to the troops. He said that this bridge would be helpful in promoting agricultural activities in the region and also in social and economic development.
The Chief Minister said that the 30 meter long Titan bridge on Pooh-Kourik road constructed at a cost of Rs 2.16 crore would ensure uninterrupted supply to the border area. This road acts as a lifeline for the soldiers posted on the India and China border.
Director General Border Roads Organisation, Lt. General Rajiv Chaudhary welcomed the Union Defense Minister and other dignitaries and detailed various projects executed by the Border Roads Organisation.
Lt. Governor RK Mathur was present with the Union Defense Minister while Chief Ministers of Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Nagaland participated in the program through virtual medium.
