Himachal Pradesh / Mandi : Carry out road improvement works within the stipulated time frame – Deputy Commissioner Arindam Chaudhary

Deputy Commissioner Arindam Choudhary has directed to expedite the work of improvement of roads and infrastructure development in Mandi district. He has asked the officials to complete the road improvement works within the stipulated time frame.

He was presiding over a meeting convened with officials of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and Public Works Department to review the status of roads and progress of projects in Mandi district.

Complete the work of making Puli in Kannada in 15 days

The Deputy Commissioner directed the officials of NHAI to complete the work of the under-construction culvert at Kanaid on the four-lane road by July 15 in any condition, so that the people get rid of the inconvenience being caused by it.

He also asked to complete the work of Naulakha-Dadore road in four lane project in 15 days. Instructions were given to repair the Nerchok to Pandoh road.
Do road repair work on priority

Arindam Choudhary asked the concerned officials to give priority to the repair work of the roads. He said that in view of the increase in the influx of tourists, it is very important that all the main roads of the district should be repaired. Promptly carry out all repairs including potholes, repairing broken edges of roads.
get rid of dust

The Deputy Commissioner asked to fix the system of water sprinkling through tankers at regular intervals to get rid of the problem of dust and soil flying in the affected areas due to the four-lane project. He said that when there is rain, there will be no need for sprinkling, but during normal days, make arrangements for sprinkling to get rid of dust and soil.
Deploy enough machinery so that the traffic remains smooth in the rainy season
Arindam Choudhary directed the officials of NHAI and Public Works Department to keep adequate machinery deployed in advance at landslide prone sites during the rainy season. He said that if the road is closed due to rain due to debris coming from the hill, then be prepared to restore it without wasting any time.

Present compensation cases in Lok Adalat by July 5

The Deputy Commissioner urged the affected people to present their cases of compensation in the Lok Adalat for the damage caused to private properties and buildings adjoining the ‘right of way’ in Mandi district due to the four-lane project. He said that by July 5, present the case in the Lok Adalat of the District and Sessions Judge in Mandi. The affected will not even have to pay legal work fees here and their compensation cases will be settled at a faster pace. Continue the work of National Highway-03

Arindam Chaudhary said that all 23 cases of approval in the Forest Rights Act related to the construction of Mandi-Hamirpur National Highway-03 (old name National Highway-70) have been cleared. He asked the officials to speed up the upcoming process of the project work. Let us tell you that Sarkaghat, Dharampur and Mandi Sadar assembly constituencies of Mandi district are covered under this entire project connecting Attari border with Leh in a better way.

Details of progress of main projects of Public Works Department

The Deputy Commissioner took the details of the progress of the main projects of the Public Works Department in the district and directed to speed up the work. He also inquired about the difficulties being faced in the implementation of some projects and gave guidance on their resolution.

He said that during the rainy season the works outside the roads and buildings remain closed. In such a situation, the Public Works Department should adopt a strategy to settle the work inside the buildings under construction. He also directed the Public Works Department to improve the condition of the approach roads.
SOP for expediting works

He said that SOPs would be prepared for the entire process in the matter of land transfer and forest clearances to expedite the development projects. In this, an effort will be made to fix the time for the implementation of the works and it should be decided at what stage the process of sending and sending the case of forest clearance should be taken. This will create a system of expediting work in continuity.
Take strict action on illegal dumping

The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to warn the contractors about illegal dumping. Take strict action if you don’t agree. Make sure that there is no dumping on the banks of the ravines.
