Rajasthan : First case of Delta Plus variant found in Bikaner, increasing threat in the country

The pace of the second wave of corona virus in the country is about to slow down, but the increasing cases of Delta Plus have become a matter of concern for the government and experts. The growing transition of Delta Plus is believed to be the reason for the third wave. At the same time, cases of Delta Plus variants have come up in many states of the country.

In this connection, the first case of Delta Plus variant has come to light in Bikaner, Rajasthan. Here a delta plus variant has been found in an elderly woman of 65 years. Let us inform that on May 30, the sample of the woman was sent to the National Institute of Virology, Pune for genome sequencing, the report of which has come on Friday and the delta plus variant has been found in the woman.

Bikaner’s Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr OP Chahar says that the delta plus variant has been found in the woman and the woman has been cured of COVID infection long ago. He said that this is the first case of Delta Plus variant in the state. He told that the woman is asymptomatic and has recovered from COVID long ago.

Dr Chahar told that the woman has already taken both the doses of Covaxin, a vaccine from Bharat Biotech. Dr. Chahar told that on Saturday sampling will be done in Bangla Nagar area, where the woman lives. Let us inform that the total number of patients infected with corona virus in Rajasthan is above 9.51 lakh and 131 new cases were reported in the state on Friday.

At the same time, the death toll due to corona virus in the state has increased to 8905 and at present no patient is dying due to corona virus. Talking about the cured patients, so far 9,41,048 patients have been cured of corona virus in the state. At present, there are 1873 active cases in the state.
