Gold breaks, silver strengthens
Gold broke even at the domestic level today, while silver strengthened amid a fall in both the precious metals overseas. In the MCX futures market, gold fell by Rs 41, or 0.09 per cent, to Rs 46,514 per 10 grams. On the other hand, Gold Mini remained almost unchanged at Rs 46,439 per 10 grams.
Silver shed Rs 246, or 0.37 per cent, to sell at Rs 67,478 per kg. Silver Mini also gained Rs 186 and was quoted at Rs 68,618 per kg.
In the international market, spot gold fell by $ 4.5 to $ 1,756.85 an ounce today. US gold futures for August also slipped by $ 6.30 to $ 1,757.30 an ounce. Silver spot fell by $ 0.06 to $ 25.86 an ounce.
