Kuwait launches one kilogram satellite into space
Kuwait has launched its first artificial Earth satellite, a one-kilogram nanosatellite.
The founder and CEO of Kuwait-based Orbital Space Company, Bassam Alfili gave information to this effect today. Kuwait’s first artificial satellite, Qamar Al Kuwait, was launched into space aboard a Falcon 9 launch vehicle from the launch site at Cape Canaveral, he said.
The founder of the Arab world’s first nanosatellite launch company, said the satellite launched by Kuwait is considered an educational satellite with micro or nanometric dimensions. This type of satellite is also known as a cube satellite or a CubeSat. Its volume is ten cubic centimeters.
