Uttarakhand / Dehradun : UKD picketed the demand for implementation of Section 371 in the state
The UKD has once again tightened its stand on its old demand to implement Section 371 in the state. On Thursday, the UKD Metropolitan Unit held a one-day dharna at Gandhi Park demanding the implementation of Section 371 in the state. A memorandum has also been sent to the DM in this regard.
In the demonstration chaired by Metropolitan President Deepak Rawat, General Secretary Jai Prakash Upadhyay said that along with the demand for the creation of the state of Uttarakhand, UKD has been an advocate of implementing Section 371 in the state. But the purpose of the sacrifice made by the people of Uttarakhand to become a state has been tarnished today, the planning and policies of the state of Uttarakhand have not been made according to the state’s agitational sentiments. Even today the people of the state are far away from development. The natives of Uttarakhand have also turned away from the natural resources here. It is necessary in every respect to implement Article 371 in the state. The state government should make a proposal and make a provision in Article 371 that only the residents of Uttarakhand should have the right to education, employment and land in the state. Immediately the purchase and sale of land by outsiders should be banned. On the occasion, Union General Secretary Bahadur Singh Rawat, Uttam Singh Rawat, Shiv Prasad Semwal, Sameer Mundepi, Sanjay Bahuguna, Pratap Kunwar, Sunil Dhyani, Kamal Kant, Ganesh Kala, Meenakshi Singh, Sulochana Ishwal, Kendrapal Topwal, Seema Rawat, Anup Panwar, Pushkar Singh Gusain, Rajendra Gusain, Rajendra Bisht, Central President Youth Cell, Dinesh Negi, Ganesh Kala, Deepak Madhwal, Virendra Rawat etc. were present.
