Petrol Diesel Price Today: There is a rise in fuel prices again, the price of petrol told a new record

After a day’s stability, once again on Sunday, the public sector oil marketing companies have increased the prices of petrol and diesel on Sunday. Today the price of petrol has increased by 35 paise and that of diesel by 18 paise per liter. After this new price hike, the new price of petrol in the national capital Delhi has increased to Rs 99.51 per liter and that of diesel to Rs 89.36 per liter.

Earlier on Saturday, there was no change in the retail prices of petrol and diesel. On Friday, the price of petrol was increased by 35 paise per liter, although there was no change in the price of diesel. On Saturday, the price of petrol in the national capital stood at Rs 99.16 per liter and diesel at Rs 89.18 per liter.

In Mumbai, the price of petrol has gone up to Rs 105.58 per liter and diesel to Rs 96.91 per liter on Sunday. Similarly, in Chennai, the price of petrol has gone up to Rs 100.44 and that of diesel to Rs 93.91 per liter. The latest price of petrol in Kolkata is Rs 99.45 per liter and that of diesel is Rs 92.27 per litre.

Earlier, on Thursday, the price of domestic cooking gas (LPG) was increased by Rs 25.50 per cylinder (14.2 kg). The cost of subsidized and non-subsidized LPG cylinder in Delhi is now Rs 834.50. Petrol price has been increased 34 times in the last two months. Due to this, the price of fuel reached new highs in many parts of the country.

Fuel prices vary from state to state due to different rates of local taxes, such as freight charges and value-added tax (VAT). The increase in fuel prices on Sunday is the 34th increase since May 4. Earlier, there were no changes in fuel prices for 18 days due to assembly elections in West Bengal and other states. Petrol has become costlier by Rs 9.11 a liter in a total increase of 34 times while diesel has become costlier by Rs 8.63 a liter in an increase of 33 times. Oil companies revise the prices of petrol and diesel on a daily basis based on the last 15 days average price of the standard fuel in the international market and the foreign exchange rate. With the improvement in demand, oil prices in the international market have risen recently. Standard Brent crude has touched $75 a barrel for the first time since April 2019.
