No reason to remove Shastri: Kapil

Former India captain Kapil Dev believes that there is no need to remove head coach Ravi Shastri if he is doing his job properly.

Shastri is in England with the Test team for the five-match series against England while Rahul Dravid is in Sri Lanka as the coach of the Indian team for the limited overs series against Sri Lanka. Shastri’s contract expires after the T20 World Cup this year.

Kapil said, I don’t think anything needs to be said about it. Let the Sri Lanka series end first. We will know how our team has performed. If you are looking for a new coach, there is nothing wrong with that.

If Shastri is doing a good job, there is no reason to remove him, he said. Only time will tell. I think this will put unnecessary pressure on our coach and players.

Kapil said, India has many players. There is nothing better than this if the players get the opportunity and both the Indian teams are able to win in England and Sri Lanka. If youths are getting a chance then there is nothing wrong in it.
