Dehradun : In the Cantt assembly constituency, Aam Aadmi Party workers under the leadership of state spokesperson Ravindra Singh Anand today gheraoed the residence of regional MLA Harbans Kapoor, demanding regularization of settlements and the problems caused by rain there. The protesters reached his residence by playing rattles and gave the same rattles to the MLA, on which there was a heated argument between both the sides. Aam Aadmi Party workers led by Ravindra Singh Anand gathered at Anurag Chowk and from there they marched towards the residence of regional MLA Harbans Kapoor, shouting slogans with rattles. On the way, an attempt was made by the police to stop them forcibly, but while raising slogans, they reached the MLA’s residence and staged a dharna there. After a lot of sloganeering, MLA Harbans Kapoor came out and said who are from where they have come, on which the public got angry. People said that in 35 years you do not recognize us, on which the MLA made everyone pacify with folded hands and he asked for talks. On this, the state spokesperson of Aam Aadmi Party said that in the name of regularization, BJP has wasted 5 years by catching the public in a jumble. The protesters present gave all the rattles in their hands at the MLA’s residence itself, on which there was a heated argument between AAP workers and MLA Harbans Kapoor. Shri Anand said that neither the settlements got ownership rights nor the people living on the banks of the river canal were protected. He said that if no decision was taken regarding regularization soon. He said that regarding regularization, Cantt MLA Harbans Kapoor had said that settlements would be rectified soon, but even after a lapse of so many days, he did not take any action in this regard, on which the people who were troubled due to rain last time today. Today, I was compelled to come together with the Aam Aadmi Party and protest in this way. Shri Anand said that Aam Aadmi Party will not sit silent after this protest. If the government does not take any decision on this soon, the government will be bricked brick by brick.
