Uttar Pradesh : Case registered against former UP minister Ambika Chaudhary under POCSO Act

Ballia : Former minister Ambika Chaudhary and her son Anand Chaudhary have been booked under the POCSO Act for allegedly raising obscene slogans against state Sports Minister Upendra Tiwari and his family.

A video of Samajwadi Party (SP) workers raising slogans against Upendra Tiwari went viral on social media.

The family of Upendra Tiwari had demanded that the accused should be booked under the POCSO Act as the slogans were targeting his mother along with her two minor daughters.
Upendra Tiwari has alleged that SP workers misbehaved with his mother and daughters.
The minister said, in the video, my mother and daughters were showered with abusive words after the panchayat results. Ambika Chaudhary is trying to join SP through her son. Elections to Zilla Panchayat Presidents were held in 75 districts of the state, but this situation did not arise in 74 other districts.

The Uttar Pradesh Police on Tuesday registered a case against 10 people, including newly elected district panchayat chief Anand Choudhary, son of Ambika Choudhary.
In Ballia, BJP leaders met Superintendent of Police Vipin Tada to demand action in the matter.

Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sanjay Yadav said that the police have registered a case against Anand Chaudhary, his father Ambika Chaudhary and hundreds of unidentified people.

Ambika Chaudhary has been a minister in all the governments of the Samajwadi Party and is one of the founding members of the party. In 2017 he left the SP to join the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).

Last month, Choudhary had resigned from the BSP and his son was given a ticket in the district panchayat elections. He is likely to formally join the SP soon.
