Manu Sawhney to leave ICC with immediate effect
The ICC Board announced that Manu Sawhney will be leaving the ICC as CEO with immediate effect. The board took this decision at its emergency meeting chaired by Greg Barclay. In the meantime Geoff Allardice will continue to serve as acting CEO.
“Chief Executive Officer Manu Sawhney will leave the organization with immediate effect, while Allardice will continue to serve as Acting CEO and will be fully supported by the leadership team, which will work closely with the ICC Board,” the ICC said.
In fact, the ICC had called this meeting after its suspended Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Manu Sawhney accused him of taking unilateral, non-transparent and unfair decisions. Sawhney was placed on leave in March this year following a review conducted by PricewaterhouseCooper (PwC) Pvt Ltd, which accused him of misconduct.
Sahni was suspended on March 9 on the basis of four specific charges. They are charged with targeting certain employees, threatening to physically influence them, directly or indirectly affecting the health and well-being of employees through their behavior, and failing to report to the ICC and enforce decisions without proper consultation. There are allegations.
