Officers shot the bear that attacked the American tourist

Officials in the US state of Montana have said the bear was shot by wildlife officials earlier this week. Officials believe a female tourist was killed by a bear earlier this week. The Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks said the bear was killed less than two miles from downtown Owando.

The bear later pulled the victim out of her tent and killed her.

Experts laid a trap in the second coop on Thursday. The bear came there and was shot.
He used night vision technology to assist him in shooting the bear.

Bear experts said earlier this week that they believed the bear was a male of about 181 kilograms.

Authorities searched for the bear by helicopter and on the ground for several days after the tragedy.
