Crane collapse in Canada kills many

Several people were killed when a crane collapsed in the Canadian province of British Columbia, in which three others were injured. A crane fell from a high-rise building in Kelowna town on an adjacent building and a private residence at around 11 am. TV footage from the scene showed major damage to the building and at least one vehicle. A 250-foot radius around the building has been cleared in view of the possibility of the rest of the cranes falling. The city has declared a local state of emergency in response to the threat of people and property collapsing. The exact death toll has not yet been announced.
