Six killed, three injured in collision on Philippines highway

Six people were killed and three were injured in a collision between a van and a truck on a highway in the Philippines’ Quezon province. The accident took place on Monday at around 1250 hrs local time in the town of Tagkawayan, about 278 km southeast of Manila, when a southbound van carrying nine passengers collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction, police said here today.

According to the police report, three including the van driver died on the spot, while three others died in the hospital.
Police said three other passengers of the van suffered “serious bodily injuries”. While the driver of the truck and the three passengers in it were not hurt.
Police is investigating the accident.
