The Health Ministry said on Tuesday that the cases of corona are once again seeing a boom in the North Eastern states. At present, the positivity rate in 55 districts of the country is more than 10 percent. At the same time, on an average, more than 100 new cases are being reported every day in 73 districts. The ministry said that the third wave of corona has knocked across the world and if we do not follow the corona rules, then we will also have to bear the brunt of it.
Health Ministry’s Joint Secretary Lav Agarwal said that when there is talk of third wave, people take it as weather forecast. He said that he did not understand the gravity of the third wave and the responsibility attached to it. The north eastern states of Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Arunachal Pradesh are again seeing a spurt in new cases. We have sent teams to 11 states for corona management. It includes Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Kerala and Odisha, apart from the north eastern states.
New cases exceed 100 in these districts
According to the Ministry of Health, more than 100 new cases are being reported every day in 73 districts, during the Corona peak on May 4, more than 100 new cases were being reported in 531 districts. The ministry further said that at present the positivity rate in 55 districts of the country is more than 10 percent. Most of these include 9 districts of Rajasthan. Luv Aggarwal said, ‘In the last 24 hours, there have been 31,443 cases of corona in the country. There has been a decrease of 6% in corona cases since last week. Now there are only 73 districts in the country where more than 100 corona cases are being reported daily. So far 30.66 crore people have been given the first dose of Kovid vaccine and 7.49 crore people have been given the second dose.
Third wave of corona
The Health Ministry said that in the last one week, there was a decline of 6 percent in new cases. At present, an average of 40,841 new cases are being reported in the country every week. At present, 30.3% of cases are coming from Kerala, 20.8 percent from Maharashtra, 8.5 percent from Tamil Nadu, 7.3 percent from Andhra Pradesh and 6.5 percent from Odisha. That is, 73.4 percent of the new cases of corona in the entire country are being reported from these 5 states.
NITI Aayog member Dr. VK Paul cautioned people against negligence towards Corona rules and said, ‘The third wave of corona is going on all over the world, we all have to come together so that the third wave does not come in our country. Violation of corona rules is being seen in many parts of the country. This can eliminate the amount we have controlled on Corona so far.
