I have been offered police roles: Jimmy Shergill

Actor Jimmy Shergill has come a long way in Bollywood since his debut film Maachis in 1996. One thread that binds most of his popular films together is his avatar as a cop. From his powerful performance as Inspector Arif Khan in A Wednesday to his notable roles in Special 26 and Fugly, the actor has played notable cop roles in nearly 10 films.
Jimmy said, I am offered many police roles. I choose the ones that I really like. I choose the character who has the scope to be portrayed in a different light.
The actor has been seen in the role of a cop in his latest film Caller Bomb. He plays the character of Manoj Hessey, a high-ranking Inspector. Directed by award-winning filmmaker Gyanesh Jotting, the film is about a hill town school where children are taken hostage by a human bomb. Manoj Hessey’s unpleasant past holds the key to solving the mystery of saving the children.
Jimmy was approached for the film before the pandemic and the actor took his time to sign the project. Jimmy said, a few months before the arrival of Kovid-19, I was given a script which I really liked. But there were some inputs I wanted to give, which I found important.
He further said, a revised script was sent to me in the middle of the pandemic. I am very happy to read it because now it is a nice crisp thriller.

He said, we started shooting for the film after the first lockdown opened. In mid-October, we went to the mountains to shoot.

Caller Bum stars Jimmy along with Asha Negi, Rajshree Deshpande and Sparsh Srivastava in lead roles.
