International Olympic Committee chief Thomas Bach will visit Hiroshima today

International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach will visit Hiroshima on Friday 16 July to mark the start of the Olympic ceasefire. The organizers of the Olympic Games have given this information on Wednesday.
Bach, who arrived in Tokyo on July 9, would lay a wreath at the memorial to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, where the atomic bomb was dropped by the United States on August 6, 1945. The IOC chief will also deliver a speech at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum.
Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee President Seiko Hashimoto will accompany Bach on the visit. During this he will meet the survivors of the atomic bomb attack.
