Deepak Hooda joins Rajasthan team and leaving Baroda
All-rounder Deepak Hooda has left Baroda and will play for Rajasthan from the upcoming domestic cricket season. Hooda was in dispute with the Baroda team since the beginning of this year. In January, Hooda released a bio-bubble on the eve of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The reason behind Hooda’s departure was a dispute with Baroda captain Kunal Pandya.
Hooda had complained to the Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) about Pandya’s behaviour. But the association accused him of leaking the email to the media.
Hooda was banned by the BCA for the rest of the domestic season. The association had approached Hooda’s franchise Punjab Kings in the IPL and threatened to complain to the Indian Cricket Board.
After making his debut for Baroda in 2013, Hooda scored 2,908 runs at an average of 42.76 and took 20 wickets in 46 first-class matches. In 68 List-A matches, Hooda scored 2,059 runs at an average of 38.84 and took 34 wickets. He also scored 1093 runs in 55 T20Is for Baroda at an average of 19.87 and took eight wickets.
