Djokovic decided to participate in the Olympics
Serbia’s Novak Djokovic, world number one tennis player, has ended uncertainty about his Olympic participation by confirming he will board a flight to Tokyo. In a message posted on social media, Djokovic, who will now be aiming for a Golden Slam — four Grand Slams and Olympic gold in a calendar year — wrote, “I need to pack up for Tokyo and join our national team.” Very proud of. I am going to fight for the brightest medals on the Olympic arena.
Djokovic further wrote, For me, playing for Serbia has always been a special joy and inspirational and I will do my best to make us all happy! Let’s go.
The 4-year-old, who recently won Wimbledon, said, “Can’t let my little friend Kojiro down. I booked my flight to Tokyo and am proudly joining Team Serbia for the Olympics. Djokovic also posted a video of himself interacting with a six-year-old named Kojiro Owaki.
The Games’ official Twitter handle Tokyo2020 wrote, “Djokovic looks forward to continuing his great form in Tokyo2020 after winning three Grand Slams in 2021.” The world No. 1 won bronze in Beijing 2008 and is now looking to enrich her collection further.
