Kushal Perera ruled out of limited overs series against India due to injury

Sri Lankan wicket-keeper batsman Kushal Perera has been ruled out of the upcoming ODI and T20I series against India due to a shoulder injury. Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has confirmed this.

Perera’s exit means Sri Lanka will play the series without their first-choice wicketkeeper. Perera’s replacement is Sri Lanka’s Niroshan Dickwella, who was suspended after a bio-bubble violation during the recent tour of England. Also fast bowler Binura Fernando, who made his ODI debut in Bangladesh in May, will miss the ODI series due to a left knee injury during a training session.

Sri Lanka Cricket said in a statement, Kushal Perera will miss the ODI and T20I series against India due to injury. He sprained his right shoulder during training. Fast bowler Binura Fernando has sprained his left knee during a practice session held yesterday. Fernando will not be available for the ODI series against India.

It is noteworthy that the six-match limited overs series between Sri Lanka and India will begin on July 18. The first three ODIs will be played and then three T20 matches. Sri Lanka are yet to announce the full squad for both the series.
