Putin advocates for international cooperation in dealing with COVID
Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that we must work together in the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic and its consequences. The issue of access and fair distribution of testing kits, vaccines, medicines and personal protective equipment has not been dealt with, Putin said, addressing an informal retreat of economic leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) via video link.
In light of the continuing high risks, we believe that our priority is to increase the scale of vaccination.
We look forward to closer cooperation with our APEC partners in important areas such as the organization of mass vaccination.
In the face of the pandemic, Putin considers it important to expand cooperation in the Asia-Pacific in digitization, including using modern information technology in health, education and social welfare.
They also underlined the importance of creating a transparent, predictable and non-discriminatory environment for trade and investment in the Asia-Pacific region.
