Uttarakhand : Heavy rains wreaked havoc in Uttarkashi, two women including a girl missing, Meteorological Department’s orange alert

The torrential rains in Uttarkashi district for the last four hours have completely disrupted the life of the people. Mando Gadera came in spate due to heavy rains in Mando village near the district headquarters, due to which people’s houses were flooded. In Uttarakhand, an orange alert has been issued for heavy to very heavy rains in many districts. Along with Dehradun, there is a possibility of very heavy rain at some places in Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Champawat, Haridwar, Nainital, Pauri districts. After heavy rains, there are reports of water filling in Kankradi, Nirkot and Siror of Bhatwadi block. District Disaster Management Officer Devendra Patwal said that a house is being damaged in Kankradi village.

Told that the police team including SDM Bhatwadi, SDRF has reached the spot in village Mando. At the same time, NDRF and Tehsildar have been sent to Kankradi village. The SDRF team has rescued the injured and taken them to the hospital. The injured have been identified as Ganesh Bahadur son Kali Bahadur, Ravindra son Ganesh Bahadur and Rambalak Yadav son Makur Yadav. DM Mayur Dixit has instructed the hospital administration to be alert as well as to keep the arrangements tight. Disaster Management Officer Devendra Patwal said that two women and a girl from the same family are missing in Mando village, for whom a search operation is being conducted.

In Uttarakhand, an orange alert has been issued for heavy to very heavy rains in many districts. Along with Dehradun, there is a possibility of very heavy rain at some places in Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Champawat, Haridwar, Nainital, Pauri districts. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, there will be an orange alert of heavy to very heavy rain somewhere in Nainital, Champawat, Pithoragarh districts on 20th. During this, there will be a possibility of lightning, intense showers, fog in the mountains, fog in the plains. Due to heavy rains in the mountains, landslides, rock-shifting, highway blockade, river channels overflow and water logging in low-lying areas are likely. Light to moderate rain and thundershowers may occur in some parts of the state on 21 and 22 also. According to Meteorological Director Bikram Singh, there is no change in the weather at present.

Heavy rain in the state

Heavy rain lashed many parts of the state on Sunday. According to the Meteorological Department, Bageshwar has 162 in Liti, 100 in Sama, 107 in Loharkhet, 98 in Song, 60 in Kapkot, 99.5 in Champawat Banbasa, Jolly Grant 142.8, Raiwala 132, Mussoorie 70, Sahaspur 43, Kotdwar 97, Neelkanth 73.5, Kalagarh 61, Laldhang 52.5, Yamkeshwar 38, Haridwar Roshanabad 55, Ramnagar 187, Haldwani 76, Ramnagar 59, Berinag 31, Didihat 45.5, Udhamsinghnagar Khatima 123, Kashipur 53 mm of rain. According to the Meteorological Department, at present, the monsoon is active in the state in a normal manner.

80 mm of rain fell in 24 hours in Doon

Doon has received heavy rain in the last 24 hours. Overall, it has rained up to 80 mm and the process of rain is continuous for the last 24 hours. In between, the rain stopped for some time. But late Saturday night, early Sunday and in the evening after noon, the rain started again and again after stopping. The maximum temperature in Doon on Sunday was 30.6 degrees. While the minimum temperature was 24.3 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal. The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rain in Doon for the next 24 hours. After 21, there may be some reduction in rain. Due to continuous rains, the temperature has dropped significantly.

107 roads closed after rain in Uttarakhand

Due to heavy rains in Uttarakhand, 107 roads were closed on Sunday. Due to this people had to face a lot of problems in movement. Especially due to rain, the work of opening the roads is getting hampered, due to which the roads have been opened in less quantity. Hari Om Sharma, HOD of LonVI said that on Sunday, a total of 107 roads were closed in the state. He said that a total of 277 JCB machines have been deployed by the department to open the roads. A total of 40 roads have been opened across the state despite heavy rains on Sunday, he said. He said that the work of opening the roads is getting hampered due to the rains.
