Huge fall in stock market

Ahead of the monsoon session of Parliament, the domestic stock markets saw a sharp decline this morning and the 30-share sensitive index Sensex of BSE fell over 630 points and Nifty of the National Stock Exchange fell nearly 200 points.

The investment sentiment in the stock market weakened due to the pressure on the rupee. Due to selling in banking and financial companies from the beginning, the Sensex fell 533.07 points to open at 52,606.99 points and fell to 52,506.40 points as soon as it opened. It had closed at 53,140.06 points on the previous trading day.

The Sensex was down 387.33 points, or 0.73 per cent, at 52,752.73. HDFC Bank’s stock was trading more than two and a half percent down and HDFC’s nearly two percent down. IndusInd Bank was down around 1.5 per cent.

In the BSE, the index of medium companies is currently declining, while the index of small companies is in the green mark.

Nifty lost 168.90 points to open at 15,754.50 and fell to 15,735.95 in a short time. It was down 102.75 points, or 0.65 per cent, at 15,820.65.
