Uttar Pradesh : Red alert issued in these districts of UP, heavy rain expected for three to four days

Meerut, which is suffering from scorching heat and humidity, can get relief from Monday. The temperature dropped on Sunday itself. At the same time, according to the Meteorological Department, there is a red alert of heavy rain from Monday. Moderate to heavy Monsoon rains are expected in West UP including Meerut. This process of rain is expected to continue from July 19 to 22. Torrential rain is expected at some places. Monsoon activity can also be seen over most places of North India till July 22. However, there will be a big relief from the heat and humidity due to rain.

According to the Meteorological Department, the sky remained cloudy in and around Meerut since Sunday morning. It rained at some places. Meerut recorded a maximum temperature of 31.6 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 26.5 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature has dropped by about five degrees Celsius as compared to Saturday. However, there was an increase of 0.2 degree Celsius in the night. The day’s mercury was recorded three degrees Celsius above normal and night’s one degree Celsius. The Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 74. Meerut, battling lack of rain, is expected to get a big relief from Monday. According to the Meteorological Department and private agency Skymet, monsoon will be active in West UP and North India including Meerut from Monday. Moderate to torrential rain is expected in Meerut for a period of 72 hours. If the predictions prove to be correct, then these five days in the monsoon season will give good rains to Meerut.
