A very emotional case has come up before the Gujarat High Court. A wife wants to become the mother of her husband’s child fighting a war between life and death with Corona. For this he has approached the High Court. She has requested that the husband’s sperm should be collected so that she can become the mother of his child even when he is not there. On this, the High Court has directed a Vadodara hospital to collect samples of a critically infected person for IVF/Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) procedure. According to doctors, the hope of survival of the patient is very less and his wife wants to become the mother of his child.
Considering this as an ‘extraordinary situation’, the court pronounced the order in the case on Tuesday. After an urgent hearing on the petition of the patient’s wife, Justice J. Shastri directed a Vadodara hospital to collect the patient’s sample for the ‘IVF/Assisted Reproductive Technology’ (ART) procedure and keep it at proper place as per medical advice.
