Delhi : Market in Delhi’s Tilak Nagar closed till July 27 for violation of COVID norms

As the markets in the national capital continue to flout the COVID norms, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has ordered the closure of various markets in Delhi for a specific period. As per the order of DDMA, Delhi’s Tilak Nagar market will remain closed till July 27.
DDMA officials said several markets in Tilak Nagar area have been closed following Covid protocol violations.
Patel Nagar Sub Divisional Magistrate Jitendra Singh ordered closure of Tilak Nagar markets including Mall Road, Main Bazar, Mangal Bazar Road, Purana Bazar and Fruit Bazar area following reports of shopkeepers and people not following proper behavior of COVID has been issued.
The DDMA order said, it was pointed out that the general public/shopkeepers of the market are not following the health protocols, which in many ways may increase the case of COVID and make the market a hotspot for the spread of COVID-19 in future. It is possible.
The order stated that a report was received from Tilak Nagar Station House Officer that an inspection on July 22 revealed that DDMA guidelines/Covid protocols were not followed in Tilak Nagar market and it was recommended that That the market should remain closed for three to five days to avoid the spread of the virus again.
Delhi was under complete lockdown from April 19 to May 30 in view of the second wave of the pandemic. The phased unlocking of the city began as the COVID-19 situation improved.
Markets were allowed to reopen on June 7. However, several markets across the city, including Laxmi Nagar, Lajpat Nagar, Janpath, Kamla Nagar and Sarojini Nagar, were temporarily closed due to repeated incidents of COVID protocol violations.
