Uttar Pradesh / Lucknow : Blood storage unit inaugurated in Queen Mary of KGMU

Every month, women take ten thousand more consultations for treatment

King George’s Medical University’s Queen Mary Hospital on Saturday inaugurated the blood storage unit by the Vice Chancellor Lt. General Bipin Puri by cutting the ribbon. It was told that it is one of the largest tertiary referral center of the state. About ten thousand women come every month for consultation in the outpatient department with about nine hundred to one thousand deliveries per month. Most of the women admitted have serious complications and require immediate intensive obstetric care. To strengthen the medical facilities, 24-hour pathology services have now been started in the departmental premises itself. This will help in collecting blood samples and giving test reports on campus. This will be possible in less time. It was told that most of the women admitted in emergency need immediate blood products for blood transfusion to save their life. To ensure the speedy arrangement of blood, now a blood storage unit has been started in the campus.
