Strong tremors felt in Philippines, magnitude 6.7 on Richter scale

An earthquake measuring 6.7 on the Richter scale was felt in the Philippines’ Buntagus province today. The Philippines’ National Seismological Center said the quake occurred at 4.49 a.m. 16 km southwest of the city of Calatagon.

The center further said, its center was at a depth of 116 km under the earth.
The center also said that aftershocks of this quake can also be felt, but they are not expected to cause any damage. No one has been reported injured or killed in this earthquake.

Earthquakes are often felt in the Philippines because the Ring of Fire is located in the Pacific Ocean.
