Uttarakhand cabinet minister harak singh rawat offers to leave labor ministry

The ruckus between the chairman of Uttarakhand Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, Shamsher Singh Satyal and Labor Minister Dr. Harak Singh Rawat is not taking its name to stop. Adamant on the demand for Satyal’s removal, Rawat has now offered to leave the Labor Ministry. According to Rawat, he has urged Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami that if Satyal is more capable, then he should be made Labor Minister.

After the formation of the BJP government in the state, Labor Minister Harak Singh Rawat was looking after the responsibility of the chairman of the Workers Welfare Board. In October last year, during the tenure of the then Trivendra government, Shamsher Singh Satyal, chairman of the Labor Contract Board, was made the chairman of the Workers Welfare Board, withdrawing this responsibility from Harak. Satyal is considered close to former Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat. Since then swords have been drawn between the labor minister and board chairman Satyal. There has been a war of words between the two and they are not shying away from terming each other’s actions as against the rules.

Obviously, due to this controversy, the work of the board is also being affected. After the change of leadership in the government in March, the secretary of the board was changed during the tenure of then chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat. On this the present board recommended the removal of the secretary, to which the Labor Minister strongly objected. Not only this, four days ago, Satyal met Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and apprised him about the status of the board since its formation.

Labor Minister Rawat has been continuously demanding the removal of Satyal, but the government has not taken any decision on this yet. Angered by this, Rawat has again opened a front against Satyal. Talking to the media on Sunday, he informed about the offer to leave the Ministry of Labor. Rawat told that recently he met Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and told him that Satyal should be made Labor Minister while removing the Labor Ministry from him. He told that he had said the same thing to the then Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and Tirath Singh Rawat in the past.

CM can take any decision

The dispute of Workers Welfare Board has reached the court of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. It is believed that Chief Minister Dhami, who returned to Dehradun on Sunday evening from a three-day visit to Kumaon, will soon take a decision in view of the crackdown on this issue.
