Uttarakhand : Next hearing on August 16 in the disproportionate assets case

Hearing in the appeals of 1998 batch IAS Income Tax Officer Shwetabha Suman and others accused in the disproportionate assets case, the High Court has fixed August 16 for the next hearing. The matter was heard in a single bench of Justice Ravindra Maithani. In the year 2015, on the basis of a complaint letter, CBI raided fourteen places of Income Tax Officer. Then he was working as Joint Commissioner. In the investigation, CBI found that the officer has more assets than income. Which is in Ghaziabad, Jharkhand, Bihar and Dehradun. He had given this property to his mother and brother-in-law. Special Judge Prevention of Corruption (CBI) Dehradun sentenced him to seven years imprisonment on 13 February 2019. Along with this, a fine of three crore 70 lakh fourteen rupees was also imposed. This order has been challenged in the High Court.
