Revealed in sero survey report regarding corona menstruation

In the sero survey conducted by the Indian Medical Research Council (ICMR) in view of the corona epidemic in the country, antibodies have been found in 70 percent of the people in eight states of the country including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Bihar. Whereas in Kerala, the state with the highest number of cases, this figure is only 44.4%.

According to the report released by the Union Health Ministry of this sero survey of the Indian Medical Research Council, this survey was conducted between June 14 and July 16. Children aged 6-17 years were also included in this survey. In view of this, people were appealed to avoid unnecessary travel and strictly follow the rules of prevention from Corona. ICMR conducted this survey in 70 districts of the country. This is the fourth sero survey of ICMR. Samiran Panda, head of the epidemiology department at ICMR, was also involved in the survey. He said the districts were selected on the basis of population and hence more districts have been included in some states. He said that the districts included in the fourth sero survey are the same as those which were included in all the three surveys earlier. In the survey, 40-40 people were selected from 10 villages or wards from each district. Antibodies were found in 79 in Madhya Pradesh, 76 in Rajasthan, 75.3 in Gujarat, 75 in Bihar, 74.6 in Chhattisgarh, 71.0 in Uttar Pradesh, 62.0 in Himachal Pradesh, 61.2 in Jharkhand, 60.1 in Haryana and 58 percent in Maharashtra.

Advice to all states to conduct sero survey

On Wednesday, Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan wrote a letter advising the states and union territories to conduct sero surveys on their own as per the ICMR guidelines for preparation of district-level data. So that that data can be used for prevention of corona. ICMR’s sero survey was designed to understand the level of spread of corona infection at the national level. ICMR Director General Balram Bhargava, while stating the results of the sero survey last week, said that there are about 40 crore or 33 percent people in the country in whom the antibodies of Corona have not been found. That is, there is a danger of these people getting caught by the corona virus.
importance of vaccination

The fourth sero survey has also explained the importance of vaccination against the corona virus. According to the fourth sero survey, antibodies against corona were found in only 62.3 percent of those who did not take the vaccine. While 81 percent of those who took one dose of the vaccine and 89.9 percent of those who took both doses, antibodies were found. The sero survey also suggests that states that have better managed first and second wave infections, and have protected a large population from infection, should also be rapidly vaccinated to protect the rest.
