Massive fire in Turkey’s forest

Massive forest fires broke out in four different places in Turkey’s southern province of Antalya, a popular destination for foreign tourists. Agriculture and Forestry Minister Bekir Pakdemirli gave this information. Unfortunately, wind conditions, low humidity and other factors are helping the fire to spread, the minister said in Antalya’s Manavghat district. There are all the reasons for the fire right now.

Winds gusting up to 50 kmph were fanning the flames and the smoke affected 53 people. An investigation has been launched to ascertain the cause of the fire.

TV footage showed firefighters pouring water from a helicopter on burning buildings, but the blaze was yet to be brought under control.
Hundreds of people have been safely evacuated from their homes due to the forest fire caused by strong winds.

Manavgat Mayor Sukru Sojen said the fire had spread to residential areas, but there was nothing to worry about in tourist areas.

Manavagat district governor Mustafa Yigit said, “We are facing an unprecedented fire. There have been no casualties so far, but we don’t have any clear information. Considering that many people from villages have been injured.
