In South Korea, about two lakh people have been infected with corona so far

In South Korea, the number of infected has increased to 1,99,787 after 1,442 new cases of corona virus were reported during the last 24 hours. The corona cases reported in the country today are less than 1,539 reported a day ago, but it is a matter of concern that the cases of infection here are staying more than 1000 continuously for the last 26 days.

The recent increase in corona cases is due to a significant increase in infection cases in Seoul and its surrounding Gyeonggi province. Of the new cases, 469 are residents of Seoul while 393 are from Gyeonggi province.

At the same time, 56 more infected people from abroad have been found in the country, increasing the total figure to 11,952. Three more deaths have been confirmed across the country, taking the death toll to 2,098. The overall mortality rate is 1.05 percent. A total of 1,497 more patients were discharged from quarantine after making full recovery, taking the number of people free from infection to 175,674. The overall recovery rate is 87.93%.

Since the start of mass vaccination on 26 February across the country, 19,444,120 people have been vaccinated against Corona, of which 7,145,922 people have completed their doses.
