Madhya Pradesh / Chitrakoot : Mandakini’s furious form: Village connection broken, vehicles stranded on UP-MP border

Due to the torrential rains for three consecutive days, the danger is increasing as the water of Mandakini river increases. Mandakini has crossed the danger mark. The water has filled the shops after crossing the danger mark. Boats are running at Ramghat.
The incessant rain for the last one week is now becoming a disaster. Many areas of Nayagaon including Jankikund, Bharatghat, Ramghat have been submerged due to rain. Bharat Ghat, Arogyadham Ghat have submerged. The danger is increasing as the water rises. Boats have started plying in Ramghat after crossing the danger mark of Mandakini river and filling the shops with water. Even in Gupt Godavari, due to the arrival of the water of Mandakini river, now water is filling from the road to the shops.
Due to this, devotees going to Gupt Godavari have been stopped. Alert has been issued at Ramghat and riverside places. Dozens of villages of Patha have lost their connection with the city. The problems of the villagers have increased due to the flood in Bardaha river. There is danger of flood in dozens of villages including Chamraunha, Mau Gurdari, Payasipurwa, Ranipur. District Magistrate Shubhrant Kumar Shukla has directed the regional officers to get involved in relief work. Superintendent of Police Ankit Mittal has directed the police personnel to be stationed from Ramghat to Mandakini Pulghat.
