Former Nepal captain Paras Khadka retires from international cricket

Former Nepal cricket team captain and all-rounder Paras Khadka has announced his retirement from international cricket through a social media post.

The 34-year-old Paras has played 10 ODIs and 33 T20Is for Nepal, in which he has scored 1114 runs. It consists of scores over fifty seven times. He also has 17 international wickets to his name. He represented Nepal in three Under-19 World Cups in 2004, 2006 and 2008, after which he was made the captain of the team in 2009.

His biggest achievement was leading his country from the front in the 2014 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Bangladesh after finishing third in the 2013 Chillifire. He also led the team to its first ODI win in 2018 against the Netherlands.

Paras said in a statement, тАЬPlaying for Nepal has been my biggest achievement and for this I will always be indebted to my coaches, players, fans, stakeholders, friends and family for their continued support. I started my cricket career in 2002 at the age of 15. As a cricketer I have given my heart and my life and have always dreamed of achieving the best for my country. My ultimate dream is to have a better cricket system in Nepal, for which I have spent all my energy in the last two decades. I am confident that with the sincere efforts and intentions of all, we will be able to reach greater heights.
